Alesha Dixon tour date moved!
Alesha Dixon has been asked by the BBC to be part of the Strictly Come Dancing Judging panelin the autumn. She will be appearing live on BBC1 for 16 weeks every Saturday night. Unfortunately, this means Alesha will have to reschedule three of her autumn tour dates in Lincoln, Southampton and Brighton due to her commitments to the show. Strictly Come Dancing is very close to Alesha’s heart after winning the show in 2007 and hopes that her amazing fans understand that this is an unmissable opportunity. Alesha says
"I'm so sorry to all my fans for having to change some of my dates. I'm really looking forward to playing live. I can’t wait for the tour to start as I have been working so hard for a long time to achieve my dream of my first solo tour. I hope everyone can understand due to the emotional connection I have with the show, it was an exciting opportunity I could not turn down."
Over the past year Alesha’s status has rocketed to superstardom. Since shimmying her way into the charts with ‘The Boy Does Nothing’ and ‘Breathe Slow’, she has: sold over one million records in the UK alone; been a personal guest of Gordon and Sarah Brown at Downing Street (Mr Brown dubbed her ‘a national treasure’); and most recently completed an awe inspiring epic climb to the peak of Mt Kilimanjaro helping raise over £3 million for Comic Relief. Not only a household name, Alesha is also an artist at the top of her game, an electrifying dancer with Formula One levels of va-va-voom and an accomplished songwriter and singer with her own unique sound – welcome to The Alesha Show!

IAN BROWN CONFIRMS LINCOLN SHOW
IAN BROWN ANNOUNCES UK TOUR
Tuesday 2nd Oct. - Lincoln Engine Shed
NEW ALBUM COMING SOON
In anticipation of his new album, due for an Autumn release, Ian Brown has announced a mammoth 22 date tour of the UK for September and October.
Brown’s 5th studio album, the follow-up to 2004’s Solarized, has the working title The World is Yours and is being recorded at London’s RAK studios with Ex Smiths bassist Andy Rourke and Big Arm’s and Happy Mondays’ Paul Ryder. New tracks in the works include Goodbye to the Badlands and Some Folks Are Hollow.
The mighty Mancunian recently performed a short set at this year’s Manchester Versus Cancer event at MEN Arena. Songs included Ian Brown classics F.E.A.R., Golden Gaze, Dolphins Were Monkeys and two more new songs – On Track and Goodbye To The Broken. The finale of the show was a storming rendition of I Am the Resurrection with Brown joined on stage by Mani and Andy Rourke on bass.
Of the new album Brown says “The NME (Godlike Genius) award and all that gave me the pick up and the confidence to really go for it now – so far it’s sounding like this LP’s going to dwarf the others. I know everyone always says their latest is their best, but I really feel that this time. I’ve really gone all out with the lyrics and melodies. I’m trying to make my own What’s Going On. It’s going to be something really beautiful, with violins, dead sharp beats, socially conscious lyrics – this time around, I’m trying to bury everything I’ve ever done.”
Tickets £22.50 on general sale 9am on Friday 18th May www.engineshed.ticketline.co.uk

Engine Shed Sets Record Straight on Entry Policy
The Engine Shed Management are keen to put the record straight on the entry policy of the new building in the wake of its opening and the increased speculation over its events and ultimately its purpose. The Engine Shed and Tower Bars were completed in September 2006, shortly before the commencement of the 1st term for the students at the University. We have played host to many of the UK?s premier bands while also hosting many student orientated events. The Engine Shed and Tower Bars are in no way a student only venue. It is true that Wednesdays and Saturdays in the academic year are reserved for student orientated events, however, access to the Tower Bars or the many other events and gigs are not restricted to students only. With the development of our entertainment program well under way this year will see many new club nights, band nights and activities at the venue and in the Tower Bars. FUSE the weekly Indie/Rock night and the soon to be launched VIP monthly RnB event will be the first of many events focused on the people of Lincoln, irrespective of student status.
We can truly say that the Engine Shed is OPEN TO ALL!!
